Volunteer Opportunities

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!

Our organization relies on the help and support of our league volunteers. We have numerous opportunities available to everyone that is interested. Below is a listing of some of the opportunities and contact information should you be interested. Again, volunteers make our league successful and without you we could not continue to provide fast pitch softball opportunities to young ladies throughout the Smyrna/Clayton area.

Concessions

A large amount of our organizational income is generated by our concession stand. Our concession manager works hard to ensure that players, parents, volunteers, and visitors are afforded a wide range of options to satisfy their hunger/thirst needs. A part of our league's structure requires a volunteer fee deposit (refundable once a concession shift is worked). This is a minimum requirement. Volunteers like you can help move us in the direction that a fee would possibly no longer be necessary if constant, reliable, and adequate volunteers are involved. If you would like to help out in the Concession Stand, please send an email to [email protected].

Complex Maintenance

The most important thing aside from an energetic young lady needed to play softball is a place to play. Our complex is home to four fields, a parking area, practice area, concession stand, and associated structures/amenities necessary to conduct softball operations during league play. This complex is overseen by our complex manager. He relies on volunteers to share the work load of general maintenance, repair, upkeep, and beautification of our complex. If you are interested in helping out with complex related work please send an email to [email protected].

Coaching

Young ladies succeed in our organization because we have been fortunate to have knowledgeable, committed, and dedicated volunteer coaches. Even if you don't have experience in softball and are willing to learn, we would be glad to provide training for you. Interested individuals for coaching opportunities may contact our Player Agent Ladonna Norvell

Training

A key component to educating and teaching young ladies the game of fast-pitch softball is having a functioning training program. Smyrna Clayton Little Lass always continues to strive in providing quality training for young ladies looking to learn the game of softball or improve their skills. If you have experience in fast pitch softball and would like to be a part of our training program please contact us.

Safety

Little League Inc. requires associated organizations to have in place, approved Safety Plans. Safety is the number one priority of all our players, coaches, volunteers, and visitors to our sporting complex and while traveling to other locations. Our safety manager develops, implements and maintains this plan for over 400 players and coaches, and 1,000 visitors. Help is always appreciated and welcomed!

Public Relations

"I saw your picture on Instagram." "You went LIVE on Facebook." "Did you see that Tweet about the championship game?"
Social media is everywhere and help is needed to operate our organization's social media accounts and public relations sector. Sharing news about our league, highlighting events and accomplishments, and communicating with players, visitors, sponsors, and the general public is a daunting task. Should you be interested in helping with our league's public relations and social media please contact [email protected].

Umpiring

No sense in having great coaches, quality players, and a pretty field to play on if no one is there to umpire the game. Probably the volunteer area of our organization that is in the most dire need of help. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer umpire for our league please send an email to [email protected]. No experience is necessary, free training is available and uniforms and supplies are provided. This opportunity also fulfills the volunteer fee requirement for refund and we also pay umpires $25 per game!
